Personality Attributes
There is nothing to create a joyous smile on Meidweyn's than to cause pain on some one else. She is in fact, a sadist. She gets a drive in destroying her enemies in duel by her own wand. That is to say, she absorbs their power before killing them with a twist of her wrist. Meidweyn has no care for lesser beings. She does not like anyone getting in her way, and she is never nice about it. Meidweyn does not, and believes she cannot afford mercy. Anyone she can, she will not hesitate to crush.
Meidweyn's first thought in the morning is herself, and the same for her last thought before sleep. Meidweyn wants to build in her power and her empire. She plots and plans for her own amusement. She has some regard for her daughter's well being, though even she believes her daughter Merlynn serves her wishes, and will be a dutiful daughter.
The only thing Meidweyn is more obsessed with than power is her youth and beauty. She is nearly 500 years old, and is quite aware of the affects of her mortality. She is constantly on the quest to keep her beauty and nothing makes her happier than a slick compliment. Her confidence is boosted with the knowledge she is still more attractive than many of the young women in the realm.
Pets A grey kitten named Morgana, Meidweyn has always had a cat since her first cat as a child. This kitten seems a lot smarter than your average cat, and never far away from her mistress.
Special Items 11" cherrywood wand, with a clear quartz crystal tip, she has had this since the beginning of her magical training and it never leaves her person, though those who have seen her say she can preform magic with a twist of her wrist, no wand needed.
History She was born the ordinary way, to a mother and father in a small village on the edge of the dark forest. Some would come to say an ancient wizard conjured her from the belly of a dragon, but this is nothing but a fabrication. She was the child of nomadic magic users, who sold potions and spells and fortunes. They never stayed in one place long, either running out of patronage or were run out of town by the patronage. Her only friend was a small black cat named Mukah who traveled with them in their covered wagon.
Eventually, when she was about 9 years old, her mother started to teach her the ways of magic, and began with showing Meidweyn how to create her own wand. The young witch choose cherrywood, a wood of power, of war, and a crystal tip that would give her clairvoyance. After a few years, at the age of 14, she was sent to live in the Dark Forest with her Great Aunt Bathsheba, who, Meidweyn suspected, was much older than normal great aunts. Bathsheba was in actually over 300 years old when Meidweyn was sent there. She learned much over the years, refusing to leave and look for a husband so that she could be more powerful.
Sometimes she would leave the cottage, and explore the Dark Forest, of which she was not afraid. At one point she found a fountain, as soon as she drank from it, she looked down at her reflection and realized her skin was taught as a seventeen year old's, despite have seven decades under her belt. When she felt she had learned everything Bathsheba could teach her, she left the old woman's cabin, but not before destroying the witch in a duel before. Meidweyn could not stand for competition, not from Batsheba, or anyone else who would come to her for teaching. Her power and strength had caused something to twist in Meidweyn. And she wanted more, her lust for power could not be sated.
She dueled whatever witch or wizard would challenge her, and she won. With her magic she built herself a castle deep in the woods, nearly impregnable, unless she wanted you to find it.
She built a name for herself, occasionally destroyed a town or cursed one of it's occupants, and over the centuries, became known as The Sorceress Queen Meidweyn. This pleased her.
Yet something was missing. While Meidweyn knew that she could live a long time yet, and her beauty was ever lasting thanks to the fountain she built her castle around, she desired a daughter, an heir.
Seventeen years previous, Meidweyn disguised herself as a young maid in the forest, and while the King of Herrsland was on a hunt, he found her and desired her. She became his for a time, and when she was with child, she fled back to her castle. Her daughter, Merlynn was born in the winter with skin as white as snow, and hair black as night, and eyes as blue as the icy waters of the fountain.
Now she has heard of a magical item to add to her collection, only she cannot can reach them, she needs some non-magical help, perhaps she can find three fools or four in the Town of Brehmen.
