Prince Alexander
Honor and Valor in All Things
Age twenty-three
Race human
Occupation/Rank Crown Prince of Alvernon
Physical Description One thing people always remark upon, is how much he looks like his father, the Great King Aeron, a man of legend. Every knight or soldier seemed to have a story about the man in the crusades, and they all tell Alexander how much he looks like him. While in his early twenties and filling out into the form of a man, until recently Alexander felt gangly and awkward, especially when his brothers and sister have always seemed graceful and beautiful. He stands tall at 6'0, and is strong from working with the Weapons Master for the last few years.
He has an oval face shrouded in shortly cropped hair and dark stubble. He has thick dark eyebrows and expressive big brown eyes. What came from a chubby, clumsy boy is forming a rugged, strongly boned man. His lopsided smile is charming, and his laughter has a distinctive ring. It might not be pretty or exactly elegant, but it is a the full laugh of a man, a sound that makes others smile and know where he is.
Alexander always dresses sensibly, being fashionable has always been the occupation of Charlemagne and Catherine. Not that Alexander has gotten to pick out his own clothes for very long. He prefers plain, or earthy tones with just some decor, he is not a fan of patterns or bright colors. He does wear his father's signet ring, or rather, what will be his official signet once he is crowned king. In ceremony he wears a broad, darkened silver chain with a red stone across his chest and shoulders. He always wears calf height leather boots.
Personality Attributes
Because of the severity of his upbringing and his natural born character, Alexander finds it painful to lie. Which is both a virtue and a curse, one it makes him trust worthy, but two, Alexander can't get away with anything- nor can his friends. And while he cannot tell a lie, Alexander won't betray his friends, willingly. He won't lie for them, but he won't just rat on them or give them away. Alexander is the master of silence and of not knowing a thing (even though he hears more than he needs to from everyone, like his Mother, siblings, advisors, weapons master, horse master, the council of lords, etc) He's an honest friend, true and good. If someone needs him, he's there. Alexander is like a tree in the wind. People might try to blow him away, or move him from his place, but he will not budge, he is deeply rooted to the people and places he loves, and nothing will fell him.
Alexander is very trustworthy, but in return, he is trusting to a fault. He tends to look to the positives, and always believes the best in people. Some worry this is his greatest downfall. Alexander has the opportunity and the skills to build a very happy empire, but he would be so trusting as to let one wrong man into his inner circle that could over throw him.
Alexander is not afraid, and will not be hardened by the words of such naysayers. He has inherited bravery from both his parents, and he is not afraid to go anywhere or do what is asked of him. In fact, he feels so over protected, he'd jump at the chance to duel a dragon or head an army. For now, he practices for a chance he may ne'er get. He just has this strong sense of duty, and does not want to hide behind a crown.
Alexander can arrange pretty words when he prepares, but the fact remains, most of the time he is quite blunt where Charlemagne is charming, and Catherine is eloquent. Well, at least you know Alexander is honest...
Alexander is not frivolous, and has a heavy weight of morality on his shoulders. He would sooner ride through his own streets, observe the fields, and hunt than be mobbed at court by beautiful, though power hungry noblewomen. Or balls, he really cannot stand balls.
Pets Kingsley, stallion extroirdinare, Alexander never goes on hunts or rides without this stallion, which he picked out with his father 3 years ago. He is relatively young yet, but a good steed, and well recognized when draped in the colors of Farseeker House. His mother warned against the liability of such a beautiful house, but King Aeron, who was home only for a few short months before rushing south for the victory, said his boy could have whatever steed he wanted. It was the last time he saw his father.

History The first born son of King Aeron, who at the time was a young king from whom many great things were expected. He would not be an only son for long, as he was followed by Charlemagne, Catherine, and Constantine. The "Beautiful C's" he called them. While he loved them and still treasures them today, it would be easy to hate them. They seemed to breeze through life, while he had to be structured and lectured. Alexander had probably a hundred pairs of eyes on him at all times. Before the war, when he was a small child, he remembers spending days riding with his father before he was old enough for his own pony. His father would tell Alexander all kinds of stories, and take him out to see the lands of Alvernon, well at least around the castle grounds.
It was when he was 11 turns old, his father left to lead the men to the south to fight an enemy which had severely wounded the pride of Alvernon and threatened her safety. Every few years his father came home and would stay a month or so and then leave with refreshed troops. It was a much longer war than anyone had expected. Alexander was thrust into classes, both academic, and knightly. He was taught politics in the morning by various tutors, and in the afternoon served as squire to one of the best knights in the Realm, Sir Donovan, Lord of Keltshire. He had been injured in the first leg of the war, but King Aeron was so pleased with the man's efforts, he sent him to the castle to train Prince Alexander, so Alexander was taught to fight, though he would not be able to enter tournaments.
He first encountered women at the age of 17 after a night's feasting with his brother and other graduating squires. It was quite easy. He soon learned it had much to do with his rank, and became disenchanted with wooing women, the opposite affect happened to Charlemagne.
At age 20, King Aeron returned. He had gotten Alexander a fetching stallion, a creature Alexander fell in love with but his mother didn't approve. Such a recognizable horse was not a good thing for a prince. Aeron disagreed, and said it would do well for morale. While King Aeron was home, there came a dispatch from the fields that the Sultan of the South was dead, and victory was in the hands of Alvernon. King Aeron announced that he would go south to lead his men home, but before he left, he named Alexander "Crown Prince" of Alvernon, a particularly haunting decree since King Aeron never returned home.
Age 21, A letter comes to the castle, the war is indeed won, the men are heading home, but the king is grieviously ill. The king returns to the castle on his last breaths, but nothing can save him. Aeron could barely press the signet ring into Alexander's hand, an action he will never forget in all his years. Aeron was set to rest in the Vault of Kings, a dungeon below the castle reserved for the final resting place of Alvernoni kings, usually with a plaque of their life deeds.
Age 23, Queen Emme has declared the grieving is over for Alexander, and it is high time to search for a possible betrothed for the Crown Prince. Catherine is already linking the house to the Kingdom of Herrsland, though Prince Eryk does have a younger sister... Then there is the lands of the south, the Sultan had 12 daughters. Could be a sign of goodwill to marry one of them. Then again, Tavish has hinted at a long over-due alliance, and now with Alvernon's conquering of the south, the east is eager to make sure Alvernon doesn't conquer them as well. Of course there are plenty of local nobleman's daughters. It is far from Alexander's mind, but ever present in his ears.
